The solution has an easy to use interface for doctors and has features to support clinical consultation workflows for doctors during teleconsultation. Doctors can interact with patients in both synchronous and asynchronous manner. The solution provides multimode interaction i.e. Audio, Video, Text/SMS and Link sharing. This solution supports basic clinical workflow in terms of writing subjective details and objective clinical diagnosis along with assessment and planning, Including writing treatment / medication and other investigations as and when required. Platform provides a specialty specific template for prescription writing. Doctor’s side application provides features where they can get rule based risk level assessment of patients based on the pre-filled details during registration by patients (triage). Role of doctors can be defined (like primary care providers, speciality consultations or frontline workers).
Platform supports writing prescriptions with basic requirements mandated by TPG guidelines that have E-signature. Prescription generated by platform includes details like Registered medical Practitioner’s name, Registered medical Practitioner’s Qualification, Registration number, Address, Contact details, Date of consultation, Name of patient, Patient address, Age of patient, Gender, Vital readings (height, weight, BP), Chief complaints and History, Examination / lab finding summary, Provisional diagnosis, Instructions (Plan of care and investigations required), Drugs / medicine ordered (start date, frequency, strength, end date), Drugs / medicine ordered (generic name), Doctor’s signature stamp, Follow up date, Speciality specific fields (customisation option). Application also facilitates sharing case records (referral) by providers.
Platform enables doctors to record consultations and audit trail of interactions. The solution has provision to exchange data HL7/FHIR . It is claimed that the solution has integration of SNOMED CT for clinical finding, and ICD-10 for diagnosis and is also ISO 7000 & HIPPA complaints. Platform has inbuilt capability to support the Drug database interface. In addition platform also support advance features including Template features for ordering drug, lab, procedure, Organisation / doctor to develop own formulary (mark favorites), Recommender system (like suggestions of frequently ordered drugs, labs, procedure; analytics based).
Patient side of the interface provides keywords based doctor search facilities, guided searching of doctors. They also have the facility to upload documents and enter vitals which doctors can access. Patients are having features to rate and provide feedback about doctors, also having usability for low income and technologically less proficient patients also as prescription link is shared in the sms. Patients do not have control over record sharing and access.
In order to provide good consulting experience to patients, the doctor’s side of the interface has facilities to manage appointments, calendar scheduling. Platform has an admin role to support in managing consultation schedules and provides a facility to initiate refunds to patients in case of appointment cancellation. In terms of compliance, application providers have mechanisms associated with platforms to validate registration details of doctors either with the help of the support team and manual (Personal) confirmation of ID/credentials from state/ national registry of doctors. Platform also has a consent mechanism and providers can take consent from patients for the use of their telemedicine platform. The platform also allows providers to take explicit consent for every doctor-patient interaction and also supports features to customize the consent form including, multilingual translated consent.
